What To Expect
Medicare rebates are available with an eligible referral from your GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician. Ask for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) for access to up to 10 Medicare rebates per calendar year.
Some people prefer to attend without a referral. In this case, you can either pay the full fee or claim a partial rebate through private health insurance. Please contact your insurance provider to enquire about eligibility.
NDIS – We accept referrals for plan and self-managed participants. Please contact us to enquire about availability.
DVA – Some of our team accept referrals through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Please contact us to enquire about availability.
Other – We accept referrals from several third-party providers (e.g. DCJ, OOHC Agencies). Please contact us to enquire about availability.
Our standard fees are $220 for a Registered Psychologist and $245 for a Clinical Psychologist.
With an eligible MHCP, you will receive a rebate of $96.65 for a Registered Psychologist and $141.85 for a Clinical Psychologist.
Fees for third-party referrals vary depending on the funding structure. Please ensure you have approval for psychological treatment under the relevant program.
Payment must be made on the day of service or within 48 hours after a Telehealth appointment. Payments can be made via EFTPOS, cash or bank transfer. Payments that attract a rebate must be made upfront in full, with the rebate to follow.
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible. This allows us to offer this time to someone else in need of support. A cancellation fee of $100 will apply for less than 48 hours notice (2 business days).
If for some reason you do not attend without providing notice, the full fee will be charged for this session. Please be aware that rebates are not available for cancelled or unattended appointments.
Some people report feeling nervous before their first appointment. This is a common experience and makes sense when you don’t know what to expect. Let us talk you through it.
Prior to your first appointment, our team will send you some information about the process, including fees, consent, and confidentiality. You will also receive a form with some questions about yourself, including why you are seeking therapy. You can provide as much or as little detail as you like here.
During your initial appointment, we'll go over your information and explain our approach, addressing any queries you may have. It's an opportunity for you to share why you seek psychological treatment, allowing us to get to know you better and make sure we’re the right fit. We'll enquire about your current experiences and explore aspects of your background that may be relevant. Understanding these factors will help us identify what might be influencing your current concerns and together we decide the best approach going forward.
While there is always more to explore, people generally find that the initial appointment is useful for getting started. Sessions will run for 50 minutes, and the frequency varies depending on individual needs and circumstances. Please let us know if there is any way our team can make this process as smooth as possible for you.
